This post has been a long time coming.....drum roll here if you please...... today we have passed emissions, have insurance and are licensed for the road once again!!! Those who know us know that in August of 1999 we lost 2nd gear in the transmission of David's truck. He thought what a great opportunity to teach our boys about engines so we decided to rebuild the engine ourselves. Well as things go around here, we are pretty good at starting a job and getting it done, we just had not planned on David being called as our ward Bishop just a few months after deciding to redo the truck. He did not have too much free time, this is putting it mildly for sure. So here we are after having not only redone the engine, but restoring the whole truck to a beautiful state, at least in my eyes, it is road worthy. (Huge shout out here of glee and pure joy on all our parts) Here is a before and after picture for all to see. We are not totally done yet, but it is now legal to have on the road. It is so fun to drive and it sure gets a lot of attention while out.
David's truck before, this is what it looked liked more or less when we bought it in 1987, can you believe we have had it that long?
This is what David's truck looks like today, isn't it great?
Bryan calls it a "Babe magnet" I think he just might be right.
